Brush, then press the button and the hair lets go. A light everyday slicker for lifting loose coat and working through small tangles — with a plate that retracts so you are not picking fur out of the pins.

  • Fine slicker pins for loose undercoat and surface hair
  • Push-button self-cleaning plate
  • 70 g handle
  • Suits many short and long coats
  • Three colourways

How to use it

Brush in the direction the hair grows, with light pressure. A slicker works by skimming the coat — pressing harder does not remove more hair, it just drags the pins across the skin.

For a dense double coat that is already shedding heavily, start with the Undercoat Rake and finish with this.

When to stop

Do not use it on broken or irritated skin, and stop if your dog pulls away or tenses. Severe matting is a job for a groomer — brushing a tight mat out at home hurts, and the skin underneath is often already sore.

Why it earns its place

The everyday brush, not the heavy one

Press the button, the hair lets go

The plate retracts, so you are not picking a mat of fur out of the pins with your fingers afterwards.

Fine slicker pins

For loose undercoat, surface hair and the small tangles that have not turned into anything worse yet.

70 g

Light enough that your wrist lasts the whole dog, which is usually what decides whether it gets done.

Where it fits in

On a dense double coat that is already shedding, start with the Undercoat Rake and finish with this.

The questions we get asked

If yours is not here, email us. A person reads it and replies.

Should I press harder to get more hair out?

No. A slicker works by skimming the coat. Pressing harder does not remove more hair — it just drags the pins across the skin, and that is how a dog learns to hate being brushed.

My dog is badly matted. Will this fix it?

No, and please do not try. Brushing a tight mat out at home hurts, and the skin underneath is often already sore. That is a groomer's job.

Brush or rake?

The rake opens knots and pulls the loose undercoat out. The brush finishes the surface. On a heavy shedder you want both, in that order.

How often should I use it?

Little and often beats a long session once a month — for the coat and for your dog's opinion of the whole business. Through a heavy shed, most days.
