Let's find the right fit

Size guide — The Harbour Vest — Reflective Dog Life Jacket

Use chest, neck and back measurements together, and try the fit in shallow water before a real swim.

  1. Measure the chest around the widest part of the ribcage.
  2. Measure the neck at its base, where the vest opening will sit.
  3. Measure along the spine, from the base of the neck to the base of the tail.
SizeNeck girthChest girthBack length
S33–41 cm29–50 cm27 cm
M39–47 cm40–54 cm35 cm
L42–49 cm42–56 cm38 cm
XL57–64 cm55–80 cm44 cm

The chest ranges overlap. If two sizes fit, use the back length and pick the one that does not reach past the tail base.

This vest is a flotation aid, not a life-saving device. Stay with your dog around water, always.

Free tracked delivery, anywhere in Australia We usually have it out the door in 2 business days, and it tends to land from about 5. How returns work, personalised pieces included, is set out in our Refund Policy.

Getting the size right

Three measurements matter: the chest at its widest point, the neck at the base where a collar sits, and the back along the spine from the base of the neck to the base of the tail.

The vest should stop at the base of the tail. One that runs past it will catch the back legs when your dog swims.

Read this before the first swim

This is a flotation aid, not a life-saving device. It adds buoyancy to a dog that can already swim — it will not keep an exhausted or panicking dog safe on its own.

Never leave a dog unattended in or near water. Fit every strap, then test in shallow calm water first and watch how the vest sits once it is wet. Check the straps, stitching and foam panels before each use, and replace the vest if any of them are damaged.

Why it earns its place

Extra support around water

Easy to spot

Orange with reflective accents, so you can still pick them out against water and pale sand.

A bit of lift where it counts

Buoyant panels add flotation, cut so your dog can still move naturally.

A handle when you need it

The top handle lets you guide or lift them in a controlled moment.

Try it before the deep end

Measure carefully, do up every strap, and test the fit in shallow calm water before anything longer.

Questions we get asked

If yours is not here, email us. A person reads it and replies.

Can my dog swim alone in it?

No. Never leave a dog alone in or near water, even in a flotation aid. Of everything on this page, this is the line that matters most.

What should a good fit feel like?

Snug enough that it cannot shift or slip over the head, loose enough that your dog breathes easily and moves their legs freely.

When should I replace it?

As soon as the foam, stitching, straps, buckles or grab handle show damage or wear. A flotation aid that has started to go is not one to gamble on.
